Born of woman. Created by devotion. Nurtured by the machine.

In the coastal valley, where the rivers run crystal clear and the pines grow tall, the X’Hult live in balance with nature. They toil in the spring and summer to gather what they can for the coming winter. Nakut, the spirit god, tests them, and only the strong survive.

Among them, Nemiah is no ordinary girl. She lives with her stern father, Texalt, who pushes her to be braver. He forces her to be stronger. Nemiah doesn’t know why he treats her as he does. Is it because she killed mother when she was born? In rare moments, she becomes the child, running free with Junat. One day, he will face the trial of Nakut, and although it is not her path, Nemiah does what she can to prepare him.

One day, during the hunt, a savage beast attacks Nemiah’s father. As Texalt recovers, X’Anahei, the tribe’s statuesque elder, comes to her. He explains she carries a special song inside her soul, and it is why she has lived the hardest life. Tasked with the loneliest burden, Texalt has sacrificed paternal love to make her the strongest child the tribe has known; a child fit for what lies ahead. X’Anahei tells Nemiah the ancestors have chosen her to sing Nakut’s song. She is the child of destiny.

Under the blood moon, the spirits come for Nemiah, and lead her on the longest journey. Travelling for days across the fields of Heartless Bone, she collapses, failing at the last step.

But she hasn’t failed. Her trial has just begun. Awakened inside the Great X’Hult moon, Nemiah learns the truth about her culture and the frightening destruction of the fallen moons. In forgotten time, humans reached for the stars, but their hubris and greed brought the world to its knees. Close to extinction, life clung on with grim purpose. The supreme machine intelligence of the Great Moon has kept her people safe, but an old threat is waking from thousands of years of slumber.

Now is the time for Nemiah to face her fate. Gifted with the song of her people, she must go to faraway shores and find Kapital. Armed with devastating ancestral weapons, and made anew in the image of a technological god, she ventures forth. Born of woman. Created by devotion. Nurtured by the machine. Is Nemiah brave enough to save her tribe? Does she have the strength to stop the fallen moon from unleashing its apocalyptic power?
